Hey, I'm Kaitlyn.

I'm a coastal photographer on Massachusetts' South Shore, based in the small coastal town of Cohasset where the salt lingers in the air and it feels like vacation year-round.

Growing up in New England, I've always been drawn to the steady presence of lighthouses, colorful sunsets, and quiet shorelines. Each of my photos captures not only a place but a feeling - of home, nostalgia, and peace. You're in the right place is this feels like you too.

How Saltwater Studios Started

In October 2024, I was two weeks away from returning from maternity leave to my corporate job when I was informed I was being laid off. It was a devastating moment. But after taking a beat, I realized I could take this opportunity to lean back into my creative side and embraced the newfound free time.

I first picked up a film camera in high school art photography classes (20 years ago...). I continued to enjoy photography as a casual hobby until 2020, when I wanted to take my own maternity photos due to COVID. This led me to diving into digital photography. I continued to hone my craft and entered (an was accepted!) to my first art show. The lay-off was the push I needed to take these skills and turn them something more.

Why I Photograph the Coast This Way

My photography style focuses on bright, bold colors, highlighting the coastal beauty of New England. Moody, dramatic seascapes don't work for me. The ocean is my happy place and my photography reflects that. It's warm walks on the Marginal Way to get ice cream after dinner in July and early morning sunrises at lighthouse with a day teeming of possibilities.

Why I Price Things the Way I Do

I want beautiful photography to be available to everyone. Original art always felt out of reach, especially in the early days of adulthood and I'd settle for generic art from the store that had the right price point, but not any meaning for me.

I want to keep art accessible for all, but I still use incredibly high quality materials: professionally printed photographs on archival paper with fade-resistant inks. The colors are bold and true to life. I price my work for your home, not galleries.
