I almost didn't get up to capture "Sunrise Watch". I go to Ogunquit for the 4th of July every year with my family and this year, my kids weren't sleeping well. I had really wanted to capture sunrise photos, but pushed that thought out of my mind because a 4:30 AM wakeup didn't seem like great start to a long day.
But fate intervened and my son squawked at exactly 4:30 AM. He settled back down and I figured, well I'm up so I might as well go. And I certainly didn't regret that decision once I captured this shot.
About Marginal Way
Marginal Way is a one of the most scenic walks in all of New Engladn. It's a one-mile footpath along the rocky cost of Ogunquit, Maine. It winds along the edge of the Atlantic from Ogunquit Beach to Perkins Cove, passing dramatic rock outcroppings, blooming beach roses, and sweeping open ocean views the whole way.
The walk is usually packed, especially at sunset. But at sunrise there's only the dedicated folks. The light is extraordinary and the ocean feels like if it belongs to you.
